Bama Bear

I must say...I have the best dog in the world!! :) Bama Bear tends to disappear often (he is my couch buddy so it doesn't take long for me to notice) and I always assume that he has gotten himself in to something he wasn't supposed to. It's times like these that make me realize I have the strangest, sweetest, and cutest dog in the world! How could you not fall in love??

Just in case you can't tell where my adorable baby boy is laying....That would be in the closet! In a clothes basket that is piled high with dirty clothes :) Yes, I know... I should have done laundry. But, I just wanted to make sure Bama Bear had a comfortable place to sleep! :)

And if you don't think that is adorable wait till you see this!! Bama Bear has a horrible habit of chewing on his dew claws and it is starting to become a problem. Dogs usually get them removed when they are puppies since they serve no purpose, but for some reason Bama didn't go through that process. Well, he has been chewing on them so hard that he finally, last night, chewed one completely off. This is the second time that he has done that and I am not about to pay the 300$ or so dollars to get them removed. Now, Brandon and I are in the process of teaching our stubborn dog that biting his dew claw is not allowed. This was our solution. :)

We wrapped it in gauze and taped that sucker up with masking tape!! You would have thought Bama broke his leg if you saw him. He wouldn't walk AT ALL!! And his paw wasn't even hurting him... He was perfectly fine! I just didn't want him to irritate his dew claw. Strange little boy, and so so adorable :) Brandon finally insisted that we take it off because he was acting so pathetic, BUT he didn't bite his claw! I am keeping the gauze and masking tape close today!

Projects!

Alrighty! Time to post some projects! :) I am back into my "Change the WHOLE entire apartment" mode and Brando is so kindly putting up with me :) haha! Last night I happened to say "I just don't know WHAT to do with that wall!" Brando's response "We could just let it be a wall" :) NAH.... That would be do boring!

Anyways here is project #1 A FABULOUS KEY HOLDER!

Now, Brandon and I had a perfectly fine key holder prior to me making this one! BUT, isn't it ADORABLE!? I just can't get enough of it. The great thing about it is there is a place for our mail. We have a horrible habit of placing about bills/checks all over the place. Now, that shouldn't be a problem... hopefully!

Project #2 SEWING MACHINE COVER

I love this fabric and I got it when I was home for Christmas in Oregon. I decided that my sewing machine needed a little dressing up and something to make it look cute while i wasn't using it. This is what I came up with. Love it!

Project # 3 Coffee Koozies

My friend, Meagan, had asked for one of these bad boys and they are so cute!

Project #4 Alabama Athletic Bag

This was a Christmas present I made for Adam (Brandon's cousins son) He loved it! He is the biggest Alabama Fan. Brandon's mom, Chris, put the "A" on the bag with her machine and it turned out great.

Lastly, Project #5 Jumper Dress

This was Allie's Christmas present (Adams little sister) When I saw this material I couldn't pass it up, it's adorable!

And now I am on to my next project! A table for behind the couch :) I will post some pictures when I get it all done. Some powertools would come in handy at times like these...but I will make due! :)

Another semester begins...

School has finally started back, ug! It was so nice to have that break. I am taking 5 classes and already have so much homework. I do have something to look forward to, though! At the beginning of next month I will start working in Julian Harris Elementary. I will be in classes K-3 until the first week of March. I have heard a lot of great things about this school so I am very excited. I got lucky in that it is only about a block away from my apartment! I haven't been doing much sewing AT ALL lately. I was so excited when I first got my moms sewing machine that I made everything I could possibly think of... now I am out of ideas! Which is probably a good thing now that school has started! Sewing became quite a LARGE distraction at the end of last semester :) BUT I still managed to get straight A's!! I am hoping to graduate from Athens with a 4.0....we'll see though! That's gonna be tough.

This weekend my parents and brother went up to visit my grandma, she hasn't been feeling very well. That is the hardest part about being across the US is I can't just see my family whenever. But, I talked to her the other day and she said she was doing better and is home from the hospital.
