Long time; No see

Wow, it has been ages! I have an excuse, i really do! I have been extremely busy :) I went home to Oregon for 10 days to visit my family. That was fabulous, of course! I flew into Portland and I was able to spend some time with Rian and Tamara. They had the most AMAZING Saturday planned for me while I was there. Rian and Tamara support the Humane Society. It is a no-kill animal shelter (woot woot!) and they were having a "Doggie Dash" as a fundraiser. Rian, Tamara, Ronin, Murphy, and I all did the 2.5 mile walk. Ronin and I are a little out of shape I must say :) But it was the neatest thing I have ever gotten to do.

I have never seen so many DIFFERENT dogs in one place before! Everywhere I looked there seemed to be a pug :) I do think Tamara enjoyed that!

Unfortunately, this pug has seen better days....

Hahaha, it almost looks like it has down syndrome...right?! I shouldn't laugh at that....lol....There was also a TON of Bulldogs, of course! However, I must say Ronin was the best looking one there. That is just my completely unbiased opinion.

Although Rian would like to think otherwise, Ronin just isn't meant for long distance. I think next year he needs to stick to the 1 mile race :)

I really hope that I get to come back during this event again next year. It was so much fun! I really think my parents should bring Oscar up so he could join in on all the fun. Thanks Rian & Tamara!

After all that excitement was over I finally made my way to Klamath Falls to see all of my friends. My bestie Brittany even flew up from Texas to spend the week with me. She is amazing :) The week flew by! I had so much to do and so many people to see 1 week just wasn't enough time. BUT I will be back at Christmas so I have something to look forward to!

swimming gone wrong

Brandon and I have taken Bama swimming before and he always seemed to like the water. So, Brandon thought it would be a good idea if we got him a life jacket and let him get in the Tennessee River. Isn't my boy adorable?

Well....swimming didn't go too well. Actually, it went horribly wrong. I think Bama might be scarred for life. Once we finally got him in the water this is what happened...

HORRIBLE, right!? Poor little guy went head first RIGHT into the water. After that he was OVER IT! It didn't help that his life jacket was 1 size too small. *fatty* I think he felt a little more comfortable perched on Brando's lap :)

I love it! :)

Also, Bama has made it to YouTube once again! Yall have got to check this out :)

Back in Action

I finally started sewing again! It had been quite a while since I sat down and actually worked on a project. Brandon's cousin, Tracie, has two beautiful daughters (abbie & addison) and she wanted me to make dresses for them. I, of course, said YES! I made Abbie & Addison matching pillowcase dresses and this is how they turned out.
The girls are going to wear the dresses in a professional photo shoot :) I am SO excited to see the dresses on the girls when the pictures come back. That is my favorite part about making this for people is being able to see the kids actually wearing them; it makes me so happy!
A while back I made Brandon's other cousin Jodi ( he has a lot of cousins :] ) some baby bibs and booties for her newborn baby girl, Sydney. Brandon and I were up at the church playing volleyball and Jodi just happened to be there with Sydney. I had to use the restroom and that was the same time that Jodi was in the restroom getting ready to feed Sydney... this is what Jodi had put on that sweet little girl :)

I was so happy to see that she was actually using the bibs I made for her! I make things and I give them to people but I never really know if they actually use them. It felt so good to know that she was making good use of it :)

Also, My FABULOUS friend in the HobLob fabric department thought of me when ordering tulle the other day! It is SPARKLE! She kept it in the box until I came in just so that I got the FIRST CHOICE! Isn't that the best? I love that lady!
The pictures make it really hard to see the glitter, but the pink and white is SOLID glitter! And, unfortunately my carpet is too now.

I'm not even done yet! I have been trying to keep myself busy with this not-so-great weather and NO school! This next project is just a simple white onesie that I hand-stitched fabric flowers on. I think it turned out adorable if I must say so myself, haha!

Okay, okay....I'm done for today! It isn't raining out so Brandon and I are going fishing. You probably won't hear from me for awhile :) It isn't supposed to rain til next Tuesday!

My new fishing pole

A couple weeks ago I asked my dad if he could send me out one of his old fishing poles. The one I was using was WAY to big for me and it wasn't very good. He said that he would put one together and ship it out for me. I was pretty excited to get a new fishing pole. BUT, instead of putting together one of his old poles he bought me a new one :) Not only is it super nice...it's PINK!!
Right when I got it Brandon and I went out fishing. I couldn't hardly wait to try this baby out. It works like a charm :) I can even cast without hitting the trees...for the most part (haha) And I can cast so much farther. I LOVE IT!!
The fishing hasn't been as good as it was the first couple weeks we started fishing, but hopefully it will pick up soon. Brandon and I have been trying some new swimbaits out and the bass have been hitting those pretty good. We went down to the Bass Pro Shop in Leeds, Alabama last Sunday also. It's about 90 miles away and we had a blast. There is so much at those stores to look at! I could spend forever in there :)

My mom and dad are coming to Alabama at the end of June through July 5th. I can't wait to see them. We are going to the Bass Pro Shop Resort in Gatlinburg, Tennessee for the weekend too. This will be the first time that they are here together!

Big Boy Bass

The weather here has been AMAZING and staying away from fishing is nearly impossible! Brandon and I have been fishing almost everyday. I was really starting to get aggravated though, I went TWO DAYS without catching a single fish! BUT, thankfully my luck changed on Sunday. :) I caught this big boy...

5 pounds of pure beauty :)

I was so excited when I was TRYING to reel this bad boy in. I couldn't even lift my pole!! I had to pull the fish next to the edge and Brando grabbed it out of the water for me :) I wasn't going to let this one get away!

Spring Time :)

Whew, it's been a while! I have been so busy with school and then my mom came to visit. We had a FABULOUS time! We did A LOT of shopping and went to Graceland!! We even did some sewing :) She mainly sewed....I watched. She made Brandon and I a new comforter for our bed that is to die for! Brandon LOVES it. It is way more comfortable than our last one...plus it hides Bama's hair way better! I still need to make some new brown pillow cases to go with it but I haven't gotten around to that yet.

Since its been around 80 degrees here all week Brandon, Loren, and I have been fishing like crazy. We have gone everyday to Miss Carol Jane's pond. She lives in Hartselle and lets us fish for Largemouth Bass whenever we want. I'm thinkin' about turning pro :) Needless to say, Brandon and I are addicted to fishing. I think we are going to start fishing in the lakes/rivers so we can catch some real big boys.
Not too bad, right?! My dad is putting together a rod & reel and sending it my way!! I can't wait! The one I am using now isn't all that great. Plus, its SUPER hard for me to cast. I can't even count the number of trees I have been hung up in. :) I just hope this weather keeps up. I'm getting a great tan and Bass fishing is a blast!

Bama Bear

Bama has hit the big screen! :) Well, he has made it to youtube.com at least. Brandon took a video of him "singing" while I was playing the recorder. He is pretty adorable, if I must say so myself!

Here is the link so yall can check it out!

AND...Bama has learned to go down the slides at the park. it's classic. He has all but the tunnel slide conquered which is HUGE!
